July Fashion Tech Mixer with NY/LA Creative Agency - Mikhail
Mark your calendar for our next TPM Mixer July 14th with Mikhail Agency founder George Mikhail + updates on TPM research and new opportunities for the global fashion tech community.
Hey Team!
The past 6 weeks Fashion Tech has been running hot. Beyond splashy launches from Google and Daydream and major fundraises from Doji and Alta, here in New York the community felt stronger than ever with almost 20 fashion tech specific events during NY Tech Week. Colette and I ended up hosting over 800 fashion tech professionals across the week, leaving me more energized than ever about our space and loving all the conversations happening right now.
Let’s get into it.
From the Drafting Table
With NY Tech Week behind us, I’m now fully back in research mode and have a lot of posts, events and other ideas in the hopper. Here’s what my drafting table’s looking like lately:
Wrapping up my rental series
I've had some awesome conversations with founders, operators and investors I highlighted in previous posts and who I’ve met since starting this rental series like Return Soon and Robes. I’m wrapping all these extra notes together into a final post dedicated to founders and builders: failure analysis, what’s working in rental, where the category’s headed according to the experts, and more. Stay tuned!
If you missed the previous posts, check them out and let me know your thoughts!
Working on wearables next
This past week I’ve been diving DEEP into the world of wearables and I want to get your thoughts:
Who's building the coolest stuff in wearables right now that I MUST talk to?
Know any founders, folks working on wearables at Meta/Google/Oura/WHOOP, health experts, engineers? My comments, DMs and inbox are open!
Global Fashion Tech founder co-working anyone?
One thing I heard consistently during Tech Week was a desire for the global fashion tech founder community to feel more connected (just like it feels to be in NYC). And as a founder, I know it’s hard to balance networking with other founders and ultimately getting shit done…
If getting connected to fellow top fashion tech founders while having time to lock-in on those tasks you just can’t seem to get around sounds like something you need, I’m working with Colette on something for you! Comment “I’m in for co-working!” and I’ll add you to the list for updates on what we’re working on.

What are TPM Mixers? This is a monthly(ish) event series connecting the brightest minds in fashion, technology, and innovation.
Whether you're looking to collaborate, share insights, or simply meet like-minded professionals this is the place to be. ALSO, each month features a new co-host, bringing fresh perspectives and an expanded network to the table. More about this month’s cohost below!
About this month’s co-host: George Mikhail, Founder of Mikhail Agency
George Mikhail is a filmmaker, storyteller, and founder of Mikhail Agency. Based in New York, he often travels to Los Angeles, where he grew up.
His work has helped raise over $250 million through investment, preorders, and crowdfunding campaigns, including one that generated $28 million in 30 days.
Rooted in the belief that story comes before spectacle, George focuses on building brand narratives that move people and shift perception. Outside of client work, he is a documentary photographer drawn to quiet, human moments. That same approach runs through everything he creates.
What is Mikhail Agency?
Mikhail Agency is a creative studio based in New York and Los Angeles, specializing in cinematic storytelling at the intersection of fashion, technology, and culture. The studio helps brands connect through work that is visually strong, emotionally grounded, and sharpened, culturally.
Campaigns at Mikhail span high-growth startups and global brands, and are always in search of the deeper story. A launch for Glowforge generated $28 million in 30 days and became one of the most successful crowdfunding campaigns in history. Across projects for companies like Gaian, Spinn, and others, Mikhail’s work has contributed to over $1 billion in combined revenue, investment, crowdfunding, and preorders.
Mikhail partners with legacy brands such as Sony and Amway to evolve their narratives. In the studio’s current phase, this has meant shifting the focus from product to people, telling real human stories with honesty and depth. For GQ, the team crafted a more intimate portrait of LaVar Ball, reaching millions with a raw, unexpected take that challenged public perception. From neighborhood retailers like The Canyon in Los Angeles to global beauty and tech brands, Mikhail Agency focuses on honest stories with lasting impact.
The team believes storytelling is still the most powerful and underused tool in brand building. If a brand has a pulse, Mikhail will help people feel it.
NEW - “From The Community”
I get requests regularly from founders looking for talent, investors looking for deal flow and community members looking for more events and ways to engage. So moving forward I’m opening up a “from the community” section to my posts to share:
Job openings and teams hiring
Active fundraises
Events from the community
Beta testing opportunities
If you have something you’d like to share with over 2,000 fashion tech professionals, founders, investors and brand leaders, let me know HERE.
Excited about the continued growth of this community and always appreciate hearing from you all about what events and resources you’re looking for. Keep the ideas coming in the comments or via email!
That’s all for now. See you on the 14th.
