The industry report answering…

“How do we better build and fund FashionTech?”

How does it work?

Each season (Spring/Summer & Fall/Winter Fashion Weeks), I tackle 5 key questions breaking down how we can better build and fund FashionTech—unlocking innovation and circularity for the industry.

Big question (I know), so to answer this question you’ll get new posts from me weekly as I share my research process. Here’s what to expect:

  • Interviews with founders, investors, and fashion/tech industry leaders.

  • Market research and case studies on emerging trends and startups.

  • Startup spotlights and reviews of cutting-edge FashionTech solutions.

  • Resource roundups and funding news to keep you in the loop.

  • Evolving investment thesis and “founder playbook” on the future of FashionTech.

At the end of each season, I’ll summarize my findings, pulling from everything I’ve researched to answer the 5 key questions of the season.

No fluff, just the insights and conversations you’re looking for.

Who am I?

Hey! I’m Rachel, the writer behind TPM + a FashionTech founder myself who used to work in luxury fashion, strategy consulting, other tech startups.

At 20 I decided to dedicate my career to pushing sustainability and innovation in the fashion industry. I started on the inside, working for top fashion brands, then moved to the outside—cofounding a FashionTech startup. It’s been crazy to watch this category explode and progress pickup over the decade.

But I’ve also seen (and experienced) how FashionTech is often misunderstood and underfunded by investors, startup advisors who don’t know our industry give advice that isn’t tailored (read: relevant) to this category, and then founders struggle to navigate this very gate kept industry on their own.

That’s why I’m starting The Pattern Maker: to create the go-to resource for insights, inspiration, and actionable advice to support my fellow founders, investors, fashion industry leaders + anyone interested in fashion and tech coming together.

One final note…

I’m not building this report for me, I’m building this for the community because I truly believe in FashionTech and the brilliant founders shaping it

So, PLEASE let me know:

  • What are your burning questions that I can research?

  • Who do you want to hear from - which founders, investors, brands?

  • What is helpful and resonating (or not)?

Your feedback will ensure this stays high-value for you!

Thank you for reading and join the founders, investors, and industry leaders shaping the future of FashionTech.
